Abstract
According to (Jordan & Mossman, 2018), a study conducted in Kenya shows that a self-defense course for girls of all ages to be beneficial in decreasing the risk of sexual assault. Outcomes of the course showed improvements in self-esteem, self- efficacy, assertiveness, and physical defense skills, along with decreased levels of fear. Self-defense programs can reduce the rates of sexual victimization, increase confidence, reduce fear and decline the rates of human trafficking which would benefit the DCE at Hope Found.
