Abstract

This quality improvement project aimed to show how video recording can increase vivid feedback by expanding the students' memory by reviewing the recording to recall and reflect on their roles during the simulations. This project sought to help the learner understand how well the simulation ran and what was done to improve its performance. The interventions involved video recording each simulation scenario. The recording was used during the debriefing session to help the students recall and reflect on their actions during the scenario. The project employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental design with a pre-intervention and post-intervention assessment. Data was collected using the Simulation Design Scale and Debriefing Simulation Likert questionnaire. The forms were sent to the students anonymously through Google Forms. Baseline data was collected before the first assigned simulation day, and post-intervention data was collected in four weeks. The statistical significance of the results reinforces the effectiveness of the video recording method. The results support the effectiveness of video recording simulation scenarios to help provide feedback based on the recording. The recording allows the students to review their decisions during the scenario. The impact of the DNP project is not only significant but also promising. The video review process has the potential to significantly aid students in recalling and reflecting on their actions during the simulation scenarios, thereby improving their learning outcomes. This research has the potential to contribute substantially to the field of nursing education.
