Abstract

Today, data security becomes one of people's major concerns, which is normally handled by encryption schemes. Nevertheless, the associated key management becomes more complicated, especially in distributed file systems. Scalability and reliability are always major issues in the secure file systems. This thesis proposes a new system to address these concerns. Refined secret sharing scheme is deployed to avoid key management requirement and provide reliability on data processing side, whereas a load balanced server cluster infrastructure is proposed for scalability and high availability on system side. Thus scalable data processing schemes can be applied on flexible system infrastructure.
