Abstract
The following work which has been submitted to the thesis committee in the Spring 2014 semester is a novella of approximately 55,000 words. The novella is written in third-person omniscient point-of-view. The content draws from several genres, most specifically horror, suspense and mystery. The main theme discussed within the work is that of growing up and accepting change. Some rather traumatic and/or life-changing events occur, and the story focuses on how the characters - most specifically the female protagonist - contend with and accept these changes. Another topic represented which coincides with that of acceptance, is the act of moving beyond such traumatic experiences in one's life. One character specifically is unable to accept the reality of something that has happened in her life, which ultimately leads to a source of major tribulation within the story.
