Abstract

Scientific modeling does not easily fit into the current web ecosystem. However there is growing demand for running models as a web service. To fulfill this demand, this thesis describes the creation of a scalable modeling web service which requires the use of numerous technologies. This thesis will describe the modeling background that led to the need for such a service, the technologies required to create it, and the design of such a service.
