Abstract
Silenced and broken, is a case study of high school counselors’ reactions to an original anti-bullying video that was put together by the present researcher. This study analyzed six-school counselors’ reactions from an original artifact. This four-minute video features: illustrations of graphic self-harm images, statistics on bullying, 12 victims who committed suicide as a result of bullying/cyber-bullying, and it conclude with an overall message to end all forms of bullying. School counselors gave reactions to the original anti-bullying video, which developed into several themes (i.e. isolation, emotional impact, insufficient technology, etc.). These themes provide insight into the current issue on bullying/cyber-bullying and future strategies toward dealing with this growing problem. The future study intends to broaden the number of school officials’ participation. By doing so, policies and strategies can be developed to help alleviate the problem of bullying and its devastating effects on victims and their families.
