Abstract

This phenomenological study highlighted the perceptions of principals impacted by techno-stress due to continuous connectivity to the office. The purpose of this study was to gain insight as to how principal’s lives are impacted by continuous connectivity and techno-stress. The sample for this study was K-12 public school principals, in the state of Arkansas, whose lives have been impacted by continuous connectivity and techno-stress. The sample size included twelve participants. The researcher selected an equal number of male and female participants, from various size school districts, with a wide variation in years of experience and different home situations, such as a children or no children at home, in order to explore if continuous connectivity impacts different demographic populations in a different way. Using a phenomenological approach, each principal participated in an in-depth one on one interview. The researcher transcribed, coded and synthesized the interviews to understand the shared experiences and true essence of how continuous connectivity and techno-stress impact the life of a principal.
