Abstract
As a modern reworking of the classic tale of “Robin Hood,” my creative thesis is a post-modern realist fiction novel that aims to provide the classic tale with a feminocentric point of view in a modernized setting. The story begins with Robin Holdt robbing a rich man only for him to give the money to the orphanage that he grew up in. Through a series of heists and reunions with old friends, Robin finds himself as the leader of the “merry band.” Like other renditions, Hooded conveys the central themes that surround the character of Robin Hood but unlike other adaptations, it strives to pull focus towards all characters. The critical introduction, in turn, discusses the inspirations for the piece as well as its style and structure, paying close attention to the use of feminocentrism over that of androcentrism.
