Abstract
How is it that an entire generation was taught to hate? What causes an entire generation to blindly follow a regime? To want so badly to die for a cause that had long started splitting at the seams before the Second World War even started? These are questions that many have asked, but few are able to answer. I will be presenting my research exploring different examples of how propaganda was used by the Nazis as a weapon. It was a poison they carefully fed into impressionable minds. I will be exploring the power it held over an entire generation of children, such as the ways it was used to instill militaristic and racial ideals within the Hitler Youth. I will also explore the ways in which it was used to perpetuate hatred. Hate is always taught, and it begins with the types of media children are exposed to.
